I am 18 years old and have been living in the wonderful world of Wickford for sixteen years. I just completed my A-Levels in Photography, English Literature and Classical Civilisation at the Brentwood Ursuline where I was also appointed Liturgy Prefect. I am a part of the parish of Our Lady of Good Counsel, led by the amazing Father John Glynn.

I come from a HUGE family (I’m not sure if I have even met them all) but the ones I have, I love very, very much. I can’t imagine life without them and will do pretty much anything for them, even the dog! I’ve been horse riding since I was age 4 and feel completely myself when doing it, but sadly injuries caused me to quit. Photography is my other obsession and my camera is one of my most prized possessions. I constantly take pictures and come away from holidays with something ridiculous like 1000 images.

I wanted to become a part of the Walsingham House Team because I enjoyed so many retreats here before and thought it would be a surprising and exciting experience for me to have. I have been a Catechist for two years and loved every minute of it. Helping groups to get to know each other and grow in their faith is a great feeling and I want to continue that this year.

I went to World Youth Day 2008 in Australia and from that moment I knew I was in love with the BCYS. I have since been to numerous events including Lourdes 2009 which was immense and the people I met were awesome. I would say to anyone thinking of coming here, to dive right into the Walsingham House experience. You don’t know you like something until you have tried it so take the risk and surprise yourself! x
